Well, yes the cameras and printers you can buy these days are excellent and being digital you can choose exactly which shots you want to print, but you may find that your printer will go through ink at warp speed meaning that after just a few printed photos the ink cartridges will need replacing and that can be expensive. What can you do? One thing to consider is to use an on-line printer such as Photo Box or TruPrint, they are inexpensive and produce brilliant results. If you want to do your printing at home then try looking at on-line shops to buy your inks, they tend to be cheaper than the High Street.
